Rene F. Daniel, SCLS, is the founder of The Daniel Group, LLC, a company that specializes in: the leasing of shopping centers, regional malls, lifestyle centers, specialty centers and mixed use developments; the selective representation of a small number of specialty retail tenants in their expansion planning; and basic consulting services and expert witness testimony as related to the shopping center business in general. Mr. Daniel is a recognized expert in the merchandising and leasing of regional and specialty centers throughout the U.S., and does consulting for some of America’s largest shopping center developers. Mr. Daniel previously served as Senior Vice President in charge of leasing for Monumental Properties, where he directed the leasing of 19 regional malls and personally coordinated the leasing and management staff. Over the years, Mr. Daniel has shared his experience with others as Dean of the School of Leasing at the University of Shopping Centers, as lecturer for the International Council of Shopping Centers in both the Leasing Institute and the School of Management, as well as speaking at numerous national and regional meetings. He served on the charter committee, which created the Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS) designation, the new industry standard. Mr. Daniel also sits on the Editorial Board of Shopping Center Business Magazine, has written numerous articles for various trade publications, as well as writing a full chapter for the Shopping Center Leasing Handbook published by the ICSC. He was also honored and awarded the “ICSC Trustees Distinguished Service Award” in 2002. Mr. Daniel holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University, New York, N.Y., as well as a B.A. from Hunter College, New York, N.Y.

Will Ferrell, SCLS, is Executive Vice President of The Daniel Group, LLC, and has been with the company since 1987. His duties as Executive Vice President have included leasing co-ordination, merchandising, proforma development and tenant representation to all major shopping center developers. Mr. Ferrell has also been instrumental in the development and implementation of new business. Prior to joining The Daniel Group, Mr. Ferrell served as Project Manager for CBL & Associates out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. During his eight (8) years at CBL, Mr. Ferrell developed and leased that firm’s largest projects totaling over 7 million square feet. In October, 1994, as a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Mr. Ferrell was part of the inaugural class who completed the requirements to become a Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS). Mr. Ferrell has shown his leadership qualities on numerous occasions, serving as a Roundtable leader with Regional ICSC programs, as a course instructor for the CLS Review and as a lecturer at the ICSC University of Shopping Centers. Mr. Ferrell holds a B.A. from Auburn University.

Gregory D. Custer is  Senior Leasing Associate of The Daniel Group, LLC,.  In addition to mall leasing work, Mr. Custer currently works directly with landlord clients leasing several community and neighborhood shopping centers in Maryland including multiple centers on the Eastern Shore. Mr. Custer has been with the Daniel Group, LLC since 1990 and is responsible for leasing and client interaction for key projects including regional malls and lifestyle centers, executing project leasing strategies, merchandising and tenant mix plans and leasing budgets on assigned projects.  Mr. Custer successfully negotiated hundreds of leases with national, regional and local tenants primarily in client-owned regional mall projects. Prior to joining The Daniel Group, LLC, Mr. Custer represented several developers and third party management firms including The Shopco Company, Pembrook Management, Inc. and Monumental Properties, Inc. in both leasing and management capacities. Mr. Custer holds a B.A. degree from the University of Maryland.
